Mark Garry, a Laguna Beach-based artist, whose body of work includes paintings, prints and photography, employs found material and imagery derived from an ever-fading popular culture. Maps, sewing patterns, player piano rolls, library cards, hand-written correspondence and industrial packaging are utilized to reveal liminal spaces between past and present, literal and figurative, existing in an ever-changing balance, allowing a multiplicity of references for viewers to interpret.
